CHICKENPOX

Chickenpox

Chickenpox is an acute contagious disease, common to children, particularly between the ages of 1 - 10 years. Though it has a superficial resemblance to smallpox, it is entirely a different disease and less severe. But the good news is that chickenpox is a common illness for kids and most people get better by just resting like you do with a cold or the flu. And the really good news is that, thanks to the chickenpox vaccine, lots of kids don't get chickenpox at all. Kids who do get it, if they got the shot, often get less severe cases, which means they get better.

Symptoms
The disease starts with slight feverishness, and pain in the back and legs. There may be a feeling of chill, and with twenty-four hours of its onset, small red papules appear on the back and chest, and, sometimes, on the forehead too. A rash that usually begins on the body and face and later often spreads to the scalp and limbs. It may also spread to the mucous membranes especially in the mouth and on the genitals. The rash is often itchy. It begins as small red spots which develop into blisters in a couple of hours. After one or two days, the blisters turn into scabs. New blisters may appear after three to six days. The number of blisters differs greatly from one person to another. The infected person may run a temperature. These symptoms are mild in young children. Chickenpox lasts 7 to 10 days in children and longer in adults. Adults can feel very ill and take longer to recover. They are also more likely than children to suffer complications.

Causes
Chickenpox is caused by a virus called Maricela-zoster. It may start out seeming like a cold: You might have a runny or stuffy nose, sneezing, and a cough. But 1 to 2 days later, the rash begins, often in bunches of spots on the chest and face. From there it can spread out quickly over the entire body sometimes the rash is even in a person's ears and mouth. The number of pox is different for everyone. Some people get just a few bumps; others are covered from head to toe.

Diet
The Patient may be kept on a normal diet depending upon his appetite, which is affected in some cases of fever. Hard-to digest-foods should be avoided. Purgatives should be avoided.

Life Style
The infected person will be contagious until new blisters have stopped appearing and until all the blisters have scabs. They should stay at home while they are infectious. Avoid scratching the blisters because of the risk of infection.Cut the nails short or make the patient wear gloves. A natural remedy is Swarnamakshika Bhasma.120 mg of Swarnamakshika Bhasma to be taken morning and evening with decoction of Kanchnar tree bark. 1gm of Haridra Churna to be taken with juice of bitter ground leaves at noon and night.

In an acute stage, there may be rise in body temperature. In the chronic form of cystitis the symptoms are similar but generally less severe and longer lasting, and without a fever.

Then gradually embark upon the all types of food.

Lifestyle
During the first three or four days of acute cystitis, when the patient is on a liquid diet, it is advisable to rest and keep warm. Pain can be relieved by immersing the pelvis in hot water. Alternatively, heat can applied to the abdomen, by using a towel wrung out in hot water and covering it with a dry towel to retain warmth. NEPAL EDUCATION

EDUCATION IN NEPAL

Nepal Education has only recently started to develop. The Rana regime in Nepal has suppressed education in Nepal so much that it had inflicted a blow to Nepal Education.  Rana regime feared educated public so education was never encouraged there. There were only few English middle and high schools and a girls' high school in Kathmandu prior to Second World War. After end of this regime in 1951 education in Nepal was given importance. Though an education System was established in Nepal, thousands of poverty  stricken people could not send their children to school. During 1975 free primary education was offered to children by the then government. Caste problem was a major deterrent in development of Education of Nepal then. Some of the schools were set in town, so children staying in village cannot attend there. Moreover the cost of living in town was so high that people could not afford to stay there. English education and its supremacy spread in 1991. Illiteracy rates in Nepal are about 58%, 72% being women. The Education System of Nepal is based on that of United States. Nepal has received assistance from various NGOs. Several International Organizations also helped Nepal with its education System and giving primary education to rural children. Nepal Government has realized that education is the only way to curb poverty in Nepal. So they are trying hard to develop their education. Now there are about 26 thousand schools 415 colleges and five universities and two academics of higher studies.

BRITAIN EDUCATION

EDUCATION IN BRITAIN

Education in Britain has been transformed over the last 50 years. State education systems have expanded hugely, and levels of achievement and participation have continuously risen. At the same time, society has become educationalist the home the workplace, the holiday and the playgroup are seen as sites for learning, in ways that increasingly connect to the acquisition of formally-defined skills and knowledge. Yet for most of the postwar period, education policy has been dominated by questions of failure crisis and decline. Half a century of reform has far from eliminated substantial inequalities, and the conservatism of education in the face of major cultural and economic change remains a central political issue. This book seeks to describe and explain the patterning of change and continuity in British education, and to account for the persistence of the controversies which have accompanied it. In doing so, it combines economic, political, cultural and social approaches to the study of education.

GUYANA EDUCATION

EDUCATION IN GUYANA
Free education from nursery school through university was a major reason for Guyana's 1990 estimated literacy rate of 96 percent, one of the highest in the Western Hemisphere. As of 1985, the average worker in Guyana had completed 6.8 years of schooling. Families of all ethnic groups and classes took interest in the schooling of their children, and education reform has had a central place in government policy since the 1960s. The earliest record of schooling in Guyana dates back to Dutch rule and the arrival of a religious instructor in Essequibo in 1685. Because seventeenth- and eighteenth-century planters sent their children to Europe to study, local education developed slowly. Private schools and academies for the children of prospering non-British colonists were established and maintained in the colony during the nineteenth century; the first known reference to the establishment of public schools was made early in the 1800s. By 1834 there were numerous schools, both elementary and secondary, in British Guiana's urban centers. After the cessation of slavery in 1838, many Africans quickly made use of the educational opportunities open to them. By 1841 there were 101 elementary schools, most of them under the direction of the London Missionary Society. A teacher-training school and a college were opened in the 1850s. Primary education became compulsory in 1876. Truancy, however, was common.

The British planters and bureaucrats discouraged the education of the Indo-Guyanese indentured laborers. The government stated in 1904 that Indo-Guyanese should not be prosecuted if they objected on religious grounds to sending their daughters to school. Planters used this policy to discourage workers from sending their children to school. Not until 1933 was the Indo-Guyanese leadership successful in changing government policy.
