Watch The Killers Rock in Space in “Runaways”

The Killers’ “Runaways,” like a lot of their work lately, owes a lot to Springsteen, U2 and any other rock band who’s earned the adjective “massive” except possibly Coldplay. No surprise, then, that the video’s just as maximalist. The city skyline shows up in full glitter and Killers silhouettes. Lightning ignites the highways. The Killers end up in space at one point, or at least beneath a very vast night sky. Spotlights pierce, smoke gathers. Every minute of the video, in other words, is filmed to look like a ten times bigger deal than it probably is.

And you know? For “Runaways,” that works. If nothing else, it works as a prototype of what their set will probably look like when they eventually tour. Watch below.
