Meek Mill Fought the Law, And the Law Told Him to Stop

That’s the thing about sticking it to the powers that be—it’s only fun for so long, until the amount of trouble it causes becomes more stressin’ than it’s worth. Philadelphia rapper Meek Mill found this out the hard way (though probably not quite as hard a way as he could’ve found out by had he continued with his man-sticking-to ways) when he was called to a court room in the City of Brotherly Love for a status hearing on some 2008 charges, possibly connected to his recent mentioning of the District Attorney in a recent freestyle over Drake’s “The Ride” (“See you know what’s crazy / I went to court the other day, the D.A. says she hates me.”)

Outside the courtroom, Milli was confronted by a FOX 29 news reporter wondering if he was going to continue mentioning said D.A. in his songs. “That’s not even a question, man,” Meek responded. “I don’t even have no more feelings of that way.” Meek also claimed that he had “respect for the law, period” and that he’d “never been in trouble since” his 2008 business. When the reporter asked if he was doing good things now, Mill matter-of-factly responded, “Everything I do is good.”

So there you have it: Model Citizen Meek Mill, no longer biting his thumb at law and order over his Drake freestyles. Smart move.
